Fighting Gamecock ~ Idella Bodie

In the Spring of 1780 Thomas Sumter galloped from his home in the High Hills to recruit a band of backwoodsmen in the Upcountry of South Carolina. Darting out of secret bases, he and his troops ambushed enemy fords and ferries along the Catawba and Wateree Rivers.
Fearless, like a fighting gamecock, Sumter led his band of guerrilla fighters against the mighty British forces.
